Field Operations - Washington DC - Full Time

Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Paint Stripper to join our team! As a Paint Stripper, you will be responsible for removing old paint from various surfaces, preparing them for repainting or refinishing. This is a physically demanding job that requires attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely and effectively remove old paint from walls, woodwork, and other surfaces.
  • Use scraping tools, heat guns, and chemical paint removers to complete the task.
  • Patching and sanding surfaces new paint or finishing. Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
  • Follow safety protocols and proper handling of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Clean walls to ensure proper adherence.
  • Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection.
  • Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs.
  • Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; 
  • Assist with other general maintenance tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in paint scraping or similar work; lead certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (bending, lifting, standing for long periods).  Lift and carry up objects between 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use equipment properly.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
