Worcester Eisenbrandt (WEI), a well-established historic preservation and restoration construction company, is seeking a Lead Abatement Painter to work throughout the Metropolitan Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia area. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a historically significant site and contribute to the preservation of architectural heritage through specialized lead abatement and restoration work.
Perform lead-based paint abatement and handle hazardous materials safely and in compliance with regulations.
Ensure proper and safe use of all chemicals and materials.
Prepare surfaces for painting, including scraping old paint, repairing surfaces as needed, removing old caulk, taping windows and related areas, and placing drop cloths.
Identify, remove, package, transport, or dispose of hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead-based paint, materials, and contaminated soil.
Patch, caulk, and point necessary areas.
Prepare surfaces for painting and finishing.
Lead licensing a plus.
Required lead worker training.
Commercial experience required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in lead abatement.
Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
Able to lift 50 pounds.
Able to climb ladders and scaffolds.
Ability to wear PPE and respirator equipment.
Able to work in inclement weather.
Manual dexterity.
Ability to stoop, bend, lean, and turn.
