Construction Estimator – Historic Restoration
Worcester Eisenbrandt (WEI), a historic restoration construction company, is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. This position supports projects throughout the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) metropolitan area.

Job Responsibilities
- Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for historic restoration and commercial construction projects.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates by analyzing construction documents, specifications, and market conditions.
- Perform quantity take-offs for selected trades and develop detailed, trade-specific scopes of work.
- Create, manage, and evaluate bid packages while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders to align project scope, schedule, permits, and costs with historic preservation standards.
- Utilize estimating software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel to develop reliable and competitive estimates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform work primarily in an office environment with occasional construction site visits.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to travel to job sites, attend meetings, and conduct field observations as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or 5–8 years of construction estimating experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience estimating commercial construction projects.
- Proficiency with estimating software, including Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with historic restoration projects is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
